Designed in 1899 by Frank Matcham, the theatre has undergone a complete and lavish restoration. It currently presents a mixed programme of pre-West End shows and touring plays as well as opera, dance and a traditional pantomime at Christmas.

Decor: An attractive foyer with mahogany panelling, mirrors and crystal chandalier leads into a stunning red, cream and gold auditorium now restored to its original glory. The Dress Circle bar is beautiful and spacious, with original Victorian bar, stained glass windows and balcony overlooking The Green.
