VICTORIA PALACE Victoria Street SW1 Designed
in 1911 by Frank Matcham, it was the original Thirties home of Me And
My Gal, the Lambeth Walk musical. After the war the Crazy Gang took up
residence (1947-1962), immediately followed by the Black And
White Minstrels who didn’t leave until the Seventies.
Décor: Foyer has original grey marble walls, gold mosaic bandings and white marble floor enhanced by the magnificent marble staircase. Auditorium has heavy, sombre feel with panelled walls and wreath motif in circle front. Summer sliding roof is an unusual feature. Capacity:
