PHOENIX

PHOENIX
Charing Cross Road WC2

Designed in 1930 by Gilbert Scott, the theatre was most associated with Noël Coward. It opened with Coward’s Private Lives with the author, Gertrude Lawrence and Laurence Olivier in the cast. Coward memorabilia is everywhere. The undistinguished exterior belies magnificent art deco mirrored bars and foyers inside.

Décor: Small pre-foyer containing minuscule box offices for both theatre and cinema next door. The real foyer houses the Noël Coward bar. Wood panelling in the auditorium.

Capacity 1,000
