HAMMERSMITH King Street W6 The original Lyric Opera House or Lyric
Hall opened in 1888 but was redesigned in 1895 by Frank Matcham. The
theatre was pulled down in 1972 but there was enough public outcry to
salvage the interior. It was restored and reopened in 1979.
Décor: The beautiful original Victorian interior contrasts with the spacious modern foyers which house exhibitions, craft fairs and live music. Capacity: 537
