AMBASSADORS West Street WC2 An intimate Edwardian thetare
designed in 1913 by WGR Sprague it saw the West End debuts of Vivien
Leigh and Ivor Novello. In the 1940s the resident Ballet Rambert
continued during the Blitz. In 1952 a whodunnit called The Mousetrap
opened and played for 20 years before moving next door to St
Martin's where it plays to this day.
Decor: Cream auditorium with gold swags and swirls and red flock wallpaper. Grand chandalier in a wide blue cupola. Attractive oval foyer. Capacity 450
