Vicky, a Hampstead bookseller, is a heavyweight. When a handsome customer seems attracted to her she resolves that while he is abroad she will slim. Aided by the two male “characters” who share the flat above her shop, hard exercise, diet and a graph, she manages to reduce to a streamlined version of her former self – only to find that it was her rotundity that attracted the book buyer in the first place.
